researching bankruptcy

The bankruptcy laws have recently changed, making it harder to file bankruptcy, so now more than ever you need lawyers with experience to help get you through the bankruptcy process, so that you can get your financial life back on track.

Chapter 7 Bankruptcy is a process that you can be discharged of all your debt, provided that your income does not exceed certain limits. You will have to have recent tax returns as well as current income information. Prior to the filing you will need to obtain a credit counseling certificate from a Court approved credit counselor. We can arrange this for you.

Chapter 13 allows you to keep your assets and to pay your credit card and other debt over a period of 60 months; usually interest free, to a Court appointment Chapter 13 Trustee. In general, debtors choose Chapter 13 when they have a lot of equity in real estate and are behind in their mortgage payments and are facing foreclosure.
